A full house saw Maikel van der Vleuten win the Longines Trophy/Grand Prix of Maastricht in an unparalleled way. He repeated his win in the same manner as last year with an almost impossible turn. Maikel said afterwards,
This afternoon Timothy Hendrix won his second, the MECC Prize, an accumulator with joker (1.40m) . He won the opening class on Friday with Cedrick and this time he saddled the 12-year-old KWPN gelding Very Nice (by Cantos x Candillo) to finish in 38.24 seconds with 44 points to take first prize.
Only a few hours after his win in the Chapeau Prize, Frank Schuttert again was the fastest in the Audi Prize, a Table A, 1.50m jumping competition. This time he saddled the nine-year-old KWPN geldig with the applicable name Arc de Triomphe (by Triomphe De Muze x Calvados). He stopped the clock at 35.52 seconds.
Derin Demirsoy from Turkey can call himself the winner of the Hair Science Institute Prize, a speed class 1.40m. Derin Demirsoy was the fastest in 65.35 seconds with the 12-year-old KWPN gelding Vancouver (Calvados x Goodwill). Derin rides for Turkey but lives in Liege, Belgium, at Henk Nooren’s stables.
Frank Schuttert rode in high speed to victory in the Chapea Prize on Saturday afternoon in the MECC. The Dutch, who rides for the stables of Jos Lansink crossed the finish line in 59.84 seconds with the eight-year-old BWP gelding Go Easy de Muze (by Vigo d’Arsouilles).
Today Marlies van Baalen also won the Intermediaire I Kür to Music after she won yesterday’s Prix St Georges. The judges unamiously put Marlies and her 10-year-old stallion Zinidi (by Gribaldi x Wisconsin) in first place. The pair was awarded 75.792% for their performance for the JIM Prize.
The organisation of Jumping Indoor Maastricht is very thankful for the trust of all the participants, visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers that have supported the return of JIM. All efforts put together, ensured that we can now look back on a very successful edition. The positive reactions of visitors and in the media, confirm that JIM has been missed over the years and that it still has a special place in the hearts of many.
